Del Mar Lodge Adopt-A-School Program.
In 1995 Del Mar Lodge was looking for a way to become more active in our community.
We looked at blood drives, voter registration, etc., when one of our brothers, who was related to a school teacher, mention that there were a quite a few school children that did not have enough school supplies, clothing, or even a decent Christmas for the coming school year.
That was enough to start the ball rolling. After looking at several available schools, Del Mar Lodge adopted Crossley Special Emphasis School, 2512 Koepke Corpus Christi, Tx 78407 (886-9311).
Del Mar Lodge now holds several fundraisers during the year to obtain enough monies to buy a jacket, pant, shirt, shoes, and working with the Marine Corps Toy's-For-Tot's program, some toys for approximate 30-50 kids. Gifts are distributed on the last school day before the Christmas Holidays. The joy of the gifts can be seen in their eyes and faces when they receive the gifts.
